Obituary
Laurence G. Mussig passed away on January 30th, 2019. Born in Stanwood Iowa on March 21, 1932 to Albert and Hazel Mussig who preceded him in death along with his two brothers and a sister.
After joining the military Larry was stationed at Ft. Lewis WA and shortly after serving his term met his wife of 60 years Arline. He is also survived by his son Dana (Merrilee) Mussig, son Bruce Mussig (deceased), daughter Tina Mussig, son Michael (Barbara) Mussig. Foster daughter Dorothy Peters. Grandchildren Ginny (Chris) Lemagie, Greg (Maria) Peters, Shaylin Mussig, Kelsey Mussig, Ashley (Gavin) Thysens, Amanda Mussig, Sarah (Isidro) Castro, Hailey Mussig. Great grandchildren Cameron, Conner, and Casen Lemagie.
After a short courtship Larry and Arline were wed on February 21, 1959. During their life together Larry had several jobs. He worked for Asarco for over 30 years, owned his own barber shop, and retired from Occidental.
Always keeping himself busy Larry enjoyed doing all sorts odd jobs. Building Prams, woodworking, and flipping houses before it was even a thing. Purchasing run down houses he would with the help of his family remodel them and then rent them out. He even bought a house where the space needle was built and had it barged to Tacoma and placed on the lot (that was purchased by trading a boat) next to where they built their current home. Larry built a sawmill, worked on boats, made chicken and pigeon coops, sheds, whirligigs, bird houses, and worked on cars. He had a knack for looking at a project or pattern and was able to make it. If it was broke Larry could fix it.
He enjoyed fishing, going to auctions or garage sales, riding his lawnmower taking care of several yards, and going to the casino.
