Wilma Duncan

June 5, 1919 — November 27, 2006

Obituary Mom is now at peace with the angels praising the lord she so faithfully followed. Born in Poplar, Mont in 1919, she and her husband, Neal, moved to the West Coast in the late forties and eventually settled in Tacoma in the early fifties. They raised four children. Her beloved husband and dear son, Michael preceded her in death. Wilma is survived by her sister, Mary Pat Smith (Ray); brother Eugene Pender; children, James Duncan (Marge), Dixie Knoll (Ronald), Twyla Halmrast-Bourne (Raymond); 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandcildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. As the rock of this large family, she reigned over birthdays and holidays leaving precious memories for all. Mom was a devout Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society for over 60 years. She was generous in her support of many overseas missions as well as numerous local charities. Wilma was a gifted rosary maker and donated hundreds of handcrafted rosaries to missions around the world. Rosary for our dear mother will be recited at 10:30 am Saturday, December 2, 2006, followed by Mass of Resurrection, both held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 45th and McKinley Avenue, Tacoma, WA. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to Sacred Heart Church, Tacoma Rescue Mission, Franciscan Hospice or a charity closes to your heart. We would like to especially thank the Hospice Team of Kathy, Carol, Pam, Matt, Fran, Lisa and all the other special people that helped and supported us during these past few months,
