Obituary William W. Perrett June 2, 1925-Nov. 5, 2010 Bill passed into the loving arms of God at the age of 85 when his courageous battle with cancer ended. He graduated from Lincoln High School and then served our country during WWII as a naval seaman 3rd class. Bill then continued to serve in the Naval Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1952. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas and moved to Tacoma at an early age and became a lifelong resident. Bill enjoyed traveling, wood-working, golf and was an avid gardener. His one real passion was music. He joined the Tacoma Police Department in 1954 and was promoted through the ranks. After a distinguished career he retired in 1981 as Chief of Police. Bill was preceded in death by Teressa, his loving wife of 60 years. He is survived by three daughters, Maria Ferriea (Paul), of Bakersfield, CA, Cheryl Hoffman (Bob) of Tacoma, and Traci Rush (Gordon) of Fox Island. Grandchildren Robert Hoffman (Carol), of Seattle, Michele Hendricks (Jeff) of Oakley, CA and Melissa and Parker Rush of Fox Island and four great-grandchildren. A private funeral was held at St. Patrick Church. Inurnment will be at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Bill's name to St. Patrick Church or the American Cancer Society.
