Obituary William (Bill) Edward Legacy Long-time resident of Tacoma passed away at the age of 88 on May 1, 2013. He was born in Tacoma on July 24, 1924. Bill attended Clover Park High School and was a member of the radio club. He served his country during World War II as a radio operator in the Navy stationed in the South Pacific. Shortly after leaving the Navy, Bill met and married Evelyn J. Gross, they had three daughters. Bill retired from the State of Washington, Department of Revenue. Bill loved boating, supporting Sea Scouts and was proud to be a member of the Tacoma Yacht Club. He was civic-minded and community oriented. He was involved in a number of groups, to name a few, Bellarmine Boosters, Elks, Daffodilians, Neighbor-hood Block Watch, local political campaigns, and served on the state-wide Governor's Ball Committee. In 1968 the family moved into a historical, 1914 Georgian Colonial home. His dream was to participate in the Tacoma Historical Society Tour of Homes, which he achieved in 2008. Bill's zest for life fueled his passion for dancing, appearing as a leprechaun for St. Patrick's School, retirement homes, and other venues as requested. Above all Bill loved his family. He is survived by his daughters, Jeanette, Nancy (Ben), and Pamela (Don); five grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin), Jamie, Derek (Pristine), Nathan, and Robin; one great granddaughter, Amber. Bill was the oldest of four siblings and is survived by his sisters, Juanita Ranger (Ted) and Bonita Turgeon, as well as several nieces and nephews.
