Obituary William G. Mitchell, age 50, of Tacoma continued onto the next step of God's plan on November 12, 2006. A generous friend to many, Bill was known for his vast depth of concern for the lives of those close to him. He cherished his family and friends - a feeling that was reciprocated by each of them, which was evident by their support from his initial diagnosis of lung cancer to the last moment of life. He was not ready to leave as he had just found the love of his life, Vicki Sherer. His family will be eternally grateful for her love and wonderful care giving. God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you And whispered "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A loving heart stopped beating, Working hands were put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Bill graduated from Wilson High School. He began his career with Asarco and then moved to Super Valu, where he worked as a mechanic for 20 years. Bill has joined his father, William E. Mitchell, in heaven. Those left behind to remember his benevolent spirit are his sons, Michael and Joseph Mitchell; his mother, Virginia M. Mitchell; his sisters, Michelle Long, Betty (Scott) Nowasky, Marleen (Stacey) Hobson and Barbara (Gregory) Newton and his nieces and nephews, Richelle and Cameron Long, Hollyann and Mitchell Nowasky, Mackenzie Hobson, Madison and Blaine Newton and Vicki's children, Kevin and Travis Sherer. There will be a viewing on Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19, 2006 from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm and Rosary Service on Sunday at 4:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma.
