Obituary Virginia Malcolm Leitch October 19, 1918 - August 16, 2005 Virginia died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, August 16th at Allenmore Hospital from complications of long-standing emphysema. She follows her husband John who preceded her by 19 days. Her long desire to take care of John until the end was fulfilled. Virginia was born in Aquaquan, Virginia. She completed secretarial school, beginning her lifelong career as a proficient secretary. She entered the Women's Army Corps in 1942 and served in Berlin with the Army of Occupation. In 1949, Virginia and John were married in Washington DC and moved to Moses Lake in 1955 working for the 62nd Wing, then came to Tacoma with the Wing in 1960. After retirement, Virginia was proud to be involved with the McChord Air Museum and the Air Force Association (AFA). She cherished the friendships she made at McChord. Virginia was a member of AMVETS Post #5 and belonged to Holy Rosary Parish. She looked forward to lunch every Thursday with the girls! Virginia is survived by four nieces and one nephew all of the East Coast; and all her friends at Allenmore Ridge. Knowing Virginia was a true experience. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 1:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel, 1002 South Yakima. Interment at Pohick Church Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia.
