Obituary Vearl Carter Vearl Carter was a devoted husband, family and Navy serviceman. He was also a loyal, generous and kind friend to many. Vearl was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 20, 1948 and passed away in Federal Way, Washington on January 14, 2016. In his 21 years of service at the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound he received many citations of excellence. Vearl attended Northeastern College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Once retired, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carter of Federal Way; step-children, Mark Carpio of Chicago, Pamela Miller of New York City, and Michelle Valko of Seattle; three beloved grandchildren, Jude, Cooper and Olivia; mother, Dorothy Carter of Tulsa; and son, Monte Carter of Texas. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10:30am at Gaffney Funeral Home. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 1:30pm at Tahoma National Cemetery. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
