V. Eleanor Eleanor Redal

Obituary Eleanor was the third of eight children born to Bennie and Clara Sillerud in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Raised on a farm, she learned the values of hard work, family and faith. Eleanor married Rueben H. Redal in 1943. Rueben became a Lutheran pastor, serving a church in Iowa and later Central Lutheran Church in Tacoma for over 53 years. Eleanor was Rueben's life partner and became the consummate pastor's wife. Together they raised four children and were married over 62 years when Rueben died in 2006. Eleanor was an active member of Central Lutheran Church in Tacoma for over fifty years, singing in the church choir and participating in many church activities. Her husband and family were the loves of her life and she was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She will be missed by all of her many friends and relatives, including her four children: Karen (Michael) Ross; Mark (Diane) Redal; Paul Redal; and John Redal; seven grandchildren: Tim (Amy) Redal; Mark (Heather) Redal; Paul (Ali) Martin; Tricia (Erich) Sokoloski; Kathleen (Francisco) Dieguez; Kirk Redal, and Trevor Redal; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters: Marcelle Nelson; Vivian (George) Dobrovolny; Helen Ann (Harlan) Haugrud; brother Don (Joyce) Sillerud; and sister-in-law Stella Randoy. "Special thanks to the staff of The Weatherly Inn in Tacoma for their care and assistance to Mom over the past six months." A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11:00 am at Central Lutheran Church in Tacoma. Interment at New Tacoma Cemetery. Viewing will be on Thursday, June 28, 2007 from 10am ?" 8 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel.
