Trevor Burke Messenger

October 3, 1984 — February 27, 2020

Trevor Burke Messenger born on October 3, 1984 in Garden City Kansas, son of Jill and Mike Bogard and Shane and Tori Messenger, was called home on February 27, 2020 in Gig Harbor, WA.

He is survived by his precious daughter Zoe, his sisters Jasmin Messenger, Cindi Long, and Haylie Messenger, and his brothers Beau Messenger, Jason Bogard and Scott Beuer and his grandparents Francis and Alverna Schaffer and Betty Messenger. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Lee Messenger.

Trevor’s smile lit up the world and his sense of humor never failed to touch your heart. Everyone that met him was his friend. He loved helping people and would go above and beyond for his friends and strangers alike. He loved his family, and more than anyone, he loved his daughter Zoe.

Trevor attended St. John’s Catholic school where he met his lifetime friend Dallien Holtkamp. He then attended Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas, where he played football and basketball. He also attended Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas.

Outside of cherished time with his daughter Zoe, Trevor’s best times were tromping through the woods of Missouri with his cousin Cory Schauf and his sister Jasmin and off-road dirt biking in the mountains of Washington with his friends Tom and Greg. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a manager at UPS and was proud of his career.

His road was long and battles with alcoholism were many, and his family and friends shared in his pain and struggles as well as his triumphs.
