Obituary Toshiko Dogen, 95, of Fife, Washington died January 10th 2012. She was born on May 7th, 1916 in Eatonville, Washington. After working twenty-five years at Hi-Ho Shopping Center and Fred Meyer, she retired in 1981. Toshiko was an active member of the Tacoma Buddhist Temple and participated in the Buddhist Women's Association. She also was involved in the Puyallup Valley Japanese American Citizens League and Tacoma Hyakudokai. Toshiko is survived by her brother John (Mitsuko) Hamakami of Auburn, brother Tomio (Juanita) Hamakami of Florida, and son-in-law Bob Takagi and grandsons Darren and Brian Takagi of Edgewood. She was predeceased in death by loving husband Yoshio Dogen of Fife, beloved daughter Marianne Takagi of Edgewood, beloved son Gene Dogen of Fife, father Yosakichi and mother Sui Hamakami of Auburn, and sister Carol (Albert) Yamaoka of Illinois. Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 28th 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Tacoma Buddhist Temple 1717 South Fawcett Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98402. Inurnment will be at Sumner Cemetery.
