Obituary Timothy J. Stricherz was born on December 9, 1945, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Ed and Alvina Stricherz. He passed away on January 28th at St. Joseph's Hospital. Tim grew up in Enumclaw and moved with his family to Parkland when he was 10 years old. Tim was the second oldest of the five Stricherz brothers. Tim was a proud 1965 graduate of Franklin Pierce High School. He spent 38 years as a Cheif Custodian in the Tacoma Public Schools where he had the keys to every building in the district and also to the hearts of those working there. He was "Mr. Fix-It," oftentimes helping his Brookdale community neighbors and always on-call for his family. Often times, Tim could be found scenic cruising, hitting up his favorite burger joints, attending high school athletic events, or teasing and horsing around with his many nieces and nephews. Tim was a member of the 6250th US Army Reserve Hospital Unit. His exceptional interest in sports led him to become a member of Tacoma Athletic Commission (TAC). Most important in Tim's life was his faith, family, and friends. Tim will be remembered as a fun-loving person, who loved reminiscing and also telling family stories to his nieces and nephews. He was the "Go to Guy" for answers to trivial high school events, classmates, and family history. Tim is survived by his brothers Stan (Sheila) Alamo, CA, Jay (Wendy) University Place, Guy (Irene) Vashon Island, Mark (Jolyn) Spanaway, ten nieces and nephews, and the light of his life eleven great-nieces and nephews. Tim's life will be celebrated by a funeral mass on Monday, February 4th at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church. If desired, donations in Tim's memory may be made to the Tacoma Athletic Commission. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home
