Obituary Theodore Joseph Gallagher "PAPA" Ted & Marlys - Together Again Born October 23, 1922 in Ruston, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2007 in Tacoma. Ted and his Sisters were left at the Orphanage when the youngest was just 6 months old. Only 1 of the 4 were adopted. Ted not being one of them, was given a full scholarship to Bellarmine High School, graduating in the Class of 1940. Ted went on to proudly serve his country in WWII. At the age of 37 Ted met the love of his life, Marlys Kallstrom. They were married July 11, 1959 and shared 44 years together until Marlys' passing in June '03. Ted's real passion in life was family, nothing was more important than that. This became apparent with the arrival of his two boys, Joe and Mike. Their relationship with their Father was a bond that unsurpassed by none. Papa was a constant source of love and support, didn't matter what you needed, if Ted could help you he would, that's the way he was. Far and above all Ted's legacy is his Grandchildren! Ted worked at Gensco retiring in 1986 with 34 years of loyal service. A devout Catholic, Ted was a parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo for over 40 years. In October 03 Ted came to live with Mike's family. It was there that "The Flying Irishman" called home until last Thursday. Our loss is Heaven's gain. God can rest easy now, his faithful servant is now home. Proceeded in death by his sister, Nell Nelson and wife Marlys, leaving those to miss his love and guidance are his sons, Joseph Michael (Lorrie) and Michael Theodore (Carolyn) Gallagher, Beloved Grandchildren Sean, Nichole, Robert, Sarah, JJ, Bailey and Ryan. Sisters Teresa (Mel) Johnson and Winnie (Jack) Botto, Brother in Law Bob (Gert) Kallstrom. Adored Uncle of Andrea Bass. Services will be held on Monday, March 19th at 11:00 am, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be all day, Sunday March 18th. In lieu of flowers donations in Ted's name can be made to Bellarmine High School.
