Obituary Teresina Yaconetti Teresina Yaconetti was born July 3, 1933, and passed away peacefully at Franciscan Hospice House on November 10, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Teresina was born in Mangone, Italy to Salvatore and Rosina Berardi where she was raised and lived for 21 years. Born an American Citizen in Italy, her dream was to come to America. She was preceded in death by her loving sisters, Katherina Berardi Sdao, and Julia Berardi. Teresina embarked on her new life by ship, the Andrea Doria in late 1954 only knowing one aunt and uncle in Tacoma, WA and made her 14 day journey alone. She was brave, courageous and independent. Shortly after arriving in Tacoma, she met the one man that stole her heart and made her trip worth every mile. Teresina married Victor "Jack" Yaconetti on October 8, 1955 at St. Rita's Church. Teresina was a strong Catholic Christian woman, who loved her faith. She adored her family and sacrificed to give them everything good. She was a pillar of strength in the Italian Community; organizing dances, charity events, church functions and so much more. Her number one passion was cooking and baking - everything was homemade. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, and sewing for purposes of giving. She loved the Rosary and found solace in prayer. Teresina had an unbelievable knowledge of the Patron Saints. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Victor "Jack" Yaconetti; her daughters, Rose (Don) Becker, Annie (Mike) Krause, and Judy (Joe) Reha; her son, Frank (Debby) Yaconetti; her brother, Francesco (Rosina) Berardi; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, Canada and Southern Italy. Great appreciation and thanks from the family to Young at Heart Adult Family Home and Franciscan Hospice House. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at St. Rita Catholic Church (1403 S. Ainsworth, Tacoma). The Rosary will be recited at 10:30am followed by the celebration of the Mass. Entombment at Calvary Cloisters. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association for Research (www.alz.org). Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
