Suzanne Marie Schofield

March 8, 1963 — December 9, 2023

Tacoma, WA

Suzanne Marie Schofield (Suzi) passed away on December 9, 2023.
Born and raised in Tacoma, WA, Suzi grew up under the watchful eyes of her three older sisters - Carol, Judy and Theresa. They taught her well. From early childhood through her adult years, Suzi enjoyed the many picnics, birthday parties, family reunions, and other celebrations that come with being a part of a large extended family.

Suzi graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School where she was active in sports. Following high school, she worked part-time at Jack-in-the-Box, Pizza Hut, and Knapps’ Restaurant. During the next several years she worked for a local bus company overseeing the payroll and occasionally taking part in the special events that came with the job.

In 2011 she moved across country to Pittsburgh where she spent the next several years. When the pandemic hit, Suzi returned to Tacoma to help care for her mother. During this time, she was diagnosed with cancer and eventually succumbed to this illness.

Those who knew Suzi would definitely describe her as a “people person.” She rarely missed an opportunity to greet people she would meet, or to strike up a conversation whether it be familiar face or that of a stranger. Suzi had employment with GXO and Safeway. She loved spending time on her days off from work to explore new places, and especially enjoyed shopping, dining out, and occasionally visiting the many casinos in the area. Although she enjoyed being outdoors, Suzi was equally as happy to curl up with a book, or enjoy an afternoon “cat nap.” She was fond of
helping around the house and was quite proud of her culinary talents. She was proud of fixing delicious meals for her mother, and often received Mom’s “double thumbs up” for her efforts. On weekends Suzi could be seen helping with the gardening, raking leaves, and partaking in other forms of yardwork, while at the same time stopping to chat with neighbors and strangers who passed by. During the summers, Sue would decorate the house with her delightful “yard art.” She also creatively designed the back deck into a lovely and peaceful sanctuary where she and her Mom would relax on nice days.

Suzi is survived by her two sons, Christopher Schofield of San Diego, CA, and Philip Molnes, of Tacoma, WA. Her boys were very special to her. She loved them with all her heart and was so very proud of them. Suzi also leaves behind a grieving, good-looking, smarter, much younger brother, Joe Shensky, of Tacoma, WA, and her sisters - Carolyn Fletcher (Bothell, WA), Judy Divvens (San Antonio, TX) Theresa Schultz (Tacoma, WA) as well as many special and loved cousins.

The family would be honored if viewers would share a fond memory and perhaps a photo of Suzi on her obituary page.

Rest in peace, dear sister and friend! We’ll see ya in a while!
