Obituary Susanne T. Martinolich, a long time resident of Tacoma, died on July 21, 2005 at the age of 100. She resided in her own home in Tacoma's North End for fifty-nine years before entering Tacoma Lutheran Home in August of 2004. She had the pleasure of celebrating her 100th birthday with family and friends this past June. She was a devoted member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was active in Catholic Woman's Club. Born Susanne Givulinovich on June 6, 1905 in Seattle, Washington, the last of five children, she later relocated to Tacoma after her marriage to John D. Martinolich, of the Martinolich Shipbuilding family. Her husband predeceased her in 1979. She will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to countless family and acquaintances whose lives she touched over the last ten decades. Her family and her garden were the joy in her life - her beautiful dahlias decorated the altars of Holy Cross for many summers. Surviving are a daughter, Marianne Collins of Tacoma, a son, John D. Martinolich of Spokane, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the compassionate staff of Tacoma Lutheran Home and Franciscan Hospice, all family members who have cared so deeply, and especially Mary Lynn Cvitanovic, who has given of her time and love. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00, July 30, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
