Obituary In Loving Memory Stanley Sliva Nov. 1, 1917 - Feb. 13, 2008 Stan was born in Aberdeen, WA and moved to Poland at the age of 8. He returned to Washington State at the age of 12. He attended Visitation Catholic School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Sliva, whom he married in 1941. They were fortunate to share 42 loving years together. He served in WWII, in the Merchant Marines, from 1942-45. He worked for the Camerano Brothers for over 35 years as a beer salesman. Stan was the past president of the Polish National Alliance. He belonged to both the Elks Lodge and the Eagles, and was a practicing member at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Stan was a skilled golfer and was a member of University golf course for over 40 years. He was fortunate enough to experience the thrill of 5 holes-in-one. Stan touched the hearts of many people throughout his lifetime. He was an amazing person and will be missed dearly. The family would like to thank the caring and dedicated staff at Orchard Park. He is survived by his son Richard (Cheryl) Sliva, his daughter Jan (Bob) Martell, a brother, Edmund Sliwa, and sister Jean (Jim) Hicker. Stan is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Lori (Eddie), Bobby, Lenise (Gary), Kyle, Chad, Brian, Todd; and 5 great-granddaughters: McKenzie, Julie, Brooke, Brynn and Juliann. He will be missed by numerous nephews and nieces, and his longtime companion Bobbie Lewis. Viewing and Rosary will be Tuesday, February 19th at 7:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 608 S. 34th St., Tacoma, WA. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
