Sr. Imelda Romei, Op

Sister Imelda Romei, OP, a member of the Dominican Sisters of Tacoma for 80 plus years died peacefully at St. Joseph Residence in Seattle on June 19. Sister Imelda, a Seattle native, was born July 27, 1922, to Carlo and Maria (Dini) Romei. She attended Mount Virgin Grade School and Immaculate High School in Seattle before entering the Dominican Sisters in June of 1940. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Carl Romei; and sisters Olga (Romei) Ericson and Esther Romei. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joseph Residence Chapel, 4800 37th Ave. SW, 98126 on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be Tuesday, July 12, at 1:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery in Tacoma. Donations may be made to the Dominican Sisters Retirement Fund.
