Obituary Sister Henry Wyatt OSF (Sister Louise) Sister Henry Wyatt (Sister Louise), 78, died at Franciscan Hospice on March 2, 2013. She had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 61 years. Sister Henry was born in Corona, California, and was a member of St. Edward Parish before entering religious life. Sister completed her Franciscan ministry of service in the company of family, friends, neighbors and her Franciscan Sisters. The last month of her life was filled with visits from individuals expressing their gratitude to her for her special presence in their life's journey. Over the past several years, Sister focused on her neighborhood. This local ministry was a joy for her. She personally welcomed new people to the neighborhood. She frequently brought pie or some other special dessert as a welcoming gift. She encouraged connections between residents by sharing of gardens, shopping, meals, and transportation. Sister ministered in education, child care and in hospice as a Sister of St. Francis. Sister Henry loved teaching young children. She had a real talent of assisting children to feel comfortable in the classroom, which enriched their learning experiences and their lives. She served in Washington State in the Seattle Archdiocese of Seattle for 25 years and Diocese of Spokane for 11 years. She also served in California in the Dioceses of Fresno, San Diego and San Bernardino. Sister Henry had a Franciscan heart; she loved the beauty of all of God's creation. She expressed her gratitude and appreciation of God's gift though art and gardening. Sister studied Art and was awarded a B.A. in Art from the University of San Diego. She enjoyed painting and drawing, and shared her talents in each one of her ministries. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nellie Wyatt, and her brother, James Henry Wyatt. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Wyatt, her nephew Brad Wyatt and niece Laura Lira and grandnieces and grandnephews. The Sisters of St. Francis would like to thank the Franciscan Hospice staff for their loving care of Sister, and Dr. Frank Senecal for his excellent care over the years. A vigil will be held for Sister Henry at St. Ann Convent, Tacoma on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leo Parish Church on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 12:10 pm, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
