Obituary Sister Marie Adele Crettol Sister Marie Adele Crettol, OSF, 86 years of age, died at St. Ann Convent in Tacoma. She completed her active life of ministry by retiring to prayer ministry. She had been a Sister of St. Francis for 68 years. She served in education, congregational ministry, and parish ministry. She attained a B.A. in Education from Holy Name College in Spokane and an M.A. in Education from the University of Oregon. Sister Marie Adele was very proud of her Swiss heritage. Her mother and father were born in Switzerland. She was born in Wasco, California, and she truly loved her native state. She happily taught in California, in several cities, including Corona, San Diego, Wasco, and Pala. Her last commitment was serving in the parish of Mission San Antonio dePala in Pala, California. Sister also taught and was Administrator of Sacred Heart Academy in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She had twenty five years of active service in Klamath Falls. Sister dedicated her leadership skills to the ongoing development of the Franciscan Congregation by serving as Assistant Provincial for the Western region of the United States. During her term as Provincial she was based in Portland, Oregon. In 2007, Sister Marie Adele joined the prayer community at St. Ann Convent in Tacoma, Washington to complete her final years of religious life while residing with her Franciscan Sisters. Sister is survived by her sister, Alice Frank of Bakersfield, California; her nephews and their families, and her Franciscan Family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sister at St. Ann Convent in Tacoma on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11:00am. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
