Obituary Major Sidney "Suds" Bathurst To the whole world he was one man, to our family he was the whole world. Sid was born on March 5, 1929 in Altoona, PA to parents Anna and Leonard Bathurst. He left this world peacefully on November 24, 2009. He joined the Air Force as a young man and made a career out of flying F-86 Fighter Jets, even managing to survive a crash in 1954. Sid played Semi-Pro baseball in his younger years and remained an avid fan all his life. You could find him rooting on his favorite team, the Seattle Mariners, during any game. Sid married the love of his life, Billie Faith, on February 13, 1993. They joined together two families that became one. The first five years of their life together they traveled the country in an RV, visiting every state in the continental US. Sid was always quick with a smile, with a kind heart and a beautiful soul. He could be found shaping wood into wonderful pieces for his family, doing one armed push ups or strapping on a pair of roller skates to show his granddaughters how to dance on wheels. Sid was active all of his life, a lifetime member of the VFW, Past President of the Puyallup Eagles #2308 and member of the Masons. He was loved by all who met him and will be deeply missed by his family and dear friends.
