Obituary Shirley M. Olson Shirley M. (Simon) Olson passed away November 13, 2007, after a strong battle with long term health issues. Born, 1935 in Tacoma Washington to Joseph and Betty Simon, she spent her youth in Tacoma Washington, attended Stadium High School and the University of Washington, a member of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority and ran for sweetheart of Sigma Phi before moving to California to start a family. Along with her husband she ran their family business Bike N Hike from 1971 to 1997 Santa Barbara. She was loved by all that met her and part of the spirit of Santa Barbara. Her spirit, sense of humor, laughter, strength, courage and determination continues in our stories and in our hearts. She is survived by her husband, Bill, a son, two daughters, three grandchildren, and three brothers, Herb Simon, Phil Simon and Norman Simon. Funeral services will held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 19 at Home of Peace Cemetery, 5421 Steilacoom Blvd.S.W., Lakewood, WA with Rabbi Bruce Kadden officiating. There will be a gathering after the services at Temple Beth El, 5975 S. 12th St., Tacoma, WA A fund for donations to a Liver Transplant organization will be set up with info.
