Obituary Sheila Mary Reilly 09/30/46 ?" 06/09/07 Sheila Mary Reilly passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. Born and raised in North Bend, WA, she was the second child born to Joseph and Una Weber. Sheila was affectionately known as the "other mother" to her nine siblings. Upon graduating from Mt. Si High School, she followed in the footsteps of her mother and pursued a career in nursing by attending St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Tacoma, WA. She found her passion for both nursing and education, as she stayed on at St. Joe's as a nursing instructor. She then moved to Clover Park Technical College where she taught for 12 years, and was promoted to Director of Health Occupations for 14 years. Sheila showed tremendous leadership at Clover Park and throughout the state, chairing committees and devoting many hours to the nursing profession. Her years at Clover Park were full of challenges and great memories which created a second family for her. She loved nothing more than teaching young nurses the skills and compassion required for their calling. After leaving Clover Park, she enjoyed home health nursing, and then was recruited to work at Puget Sound Hospital. When that facility changed to Puget Sound Behavioral Health, she excelled as a nursing supervisor. Although brief in time, her influence at Puget Sound was evident by the support from her co-workers when she became ill. She retired from Puget Sound in 2006. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Harold, and son Thomas. She leaves behind her husband of over 40 years, Tom, and daughters, Mary (James) Montgomery and Annie. Additionally, her brothers and sisters are Dan (Carrie), Bob, Mike, Linda, Barbara, Bill, Tom (Cheryl), and Steve. She will be missed terribly by all who knew her because to know her truly was to love her. She had a generosity of spirit rarely seen in this world and the world is poorer for losing her. A celebration of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2007. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 15, 2007. Both will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Breast Resource Center of Tacoma, The Susan G Komen Foundation, or Franciscan Hospice in Tacoma.
