Obituary RUTH SEVIER JENSEN Our much loved mother, Ruth Sevier Jensen, went to be with her Lord on November 6, 2010 at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence and parents Mattie and Howard Lea. She is survived by her three children, Carolyn (Philip) Farmer, Steven (Cory) Jensen and Richard (Donna) Jensen, seven grandchildren Brent (Gabriela) Farmer, Brad, (Joan) Farmer, Kara (Michael) Cuzzetto, Dana Jensen, Chris Jensen, Thom and Micky Jensen; six great-grandchildren Melanie, Andrea, Toni, Matt, Noah and Jack. Ruth grew up In Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School where she met her husband, Clarence. They lived In Ft. Peck, Montana and Portland, Oregon before settling In Tacoma. They moved to Gig Harbor in 1964 where they spent the rest of their lives in their dream home on the water in Rosedale. Ruth's greatest Joy in life was her family. She and her husband loved entertaining at their Rosedale home. Cooking and baking for family and friends was her greatest pleasure. She hosted many lively Bridge parties for her friends from Gig Harbor Golf Club. She enjoyed crocheting as evidenced by the many afghans that warm our toes. She was an avid reader and kept detailed writings of her daily life. We were surprised by her poetic skills when we discovered her heartfelt poem entitled, "Grandma's Cookie Jar." Ruth was a member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, Zora Temple #5 Daughters of the Nile and was Past Worthy Matron of Warren Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. We want to express our utmost gratitude and thanks to her many caregivers at Cottesmore of Life care, as well as Dr. Stephen Kramp. Although we will miss our mother and grandmother we were blessed to have her with us for so many years. We are happy she is now with her beloved husband, Clarence. A celebration of her life will be held at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, 7700 Skansie Avenue NW, P.O. Box 829, Gig Harbor, WA 98335, on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at 2:30 pm.
