Obituary Ruth Margaret (Schroeder) Dzivak Our beautiful mother and grandmother was born to Max and Josephine Schroeder on December 16, 1917 in Tacoma, WA. She passed away on March 20, 2014 in the arms of her family. She attended St. Leo's grade and high schools in Tacoma. Ruth married Edward Dzivak in 1942, and they had three daughters and one son. Tacoma was home most of her life except for a year when Edward was stationed in New Hampshire during WWII. She blessed her family with her sense of adventure for travel, camping, enjoying the beach (especially the clam digging) and baseball. She taught her family and grandchildren how to cook, play cards and always made sure they knew she loved them. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; sisters, Maxine and Marge; and brother, Walter. She is survived by her children, Joan (Andrew) Thompson of Wahpeton, ND, David (Nalana) of Tacoma, Susan (Henry) Harwell of Tacoma, and Anne (Jeffrey) McKay of Tacoma; sisters, Lorraine, Virginia, and Geraldine (George); eleven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Tammy and all of the gentle caregivers at Arbor Rose Adult Family Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA 98466 A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11:00am at St. John of the Woods Catholic Church in Tacoma. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am prior to Mass also at the church. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
