Obituary Ruperto "Pete" Tobosa of DuPont passed away peacefully Saturday, November 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 27, 1927 in Aiea, Hawaii. Pete was preceded in death by his wife Sumiko (Molly) Tobosa, his son Marvin (Cindy) Tobosa and all but one of his siblings. After moving to the mainland in 1963, Pete lived in Parkland for many years. After serving in WWII and Korea, Pete retired from the Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Subsequently, he worked for the civic service at Madigan Hospital. In the fall of 2015, Pete moved to Patriots Landing in DuPont where he lived until his death. When it came time for celebrations, Pete often hosted friends and family at the Patriots Landing dining hall, catered by the fabulous staff there. His kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved to come to visit their "Popo" whenever they could. Pete loved to go to the casinos and several of his grandchildren were able to take him out quite often to test their luck. The "jackpot" was the fun they had with him and the meals he always treated them to. Pete is survived by his sons John (Jacalyn) of Olympia, Rupert (Liz) of Keller, TX, and Patrick (Laurie) of Keller, TX, his sister Helen (George) Lynch of Salinas, CA, 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his friends from the Pau Hana group, his friends and the staff at Patriots Landing and special friend, Shirley Paulson. Rather than sending flowers, the family requests that memorials may be given in Pete's name to a charity of the giver's choice. The funeral Services for Ruperto (Pete) Tobosa will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:30 in the Morning, where he will receive full military honors.
