Obituary Rue was born Rue Northey on May 6th 1927 and died peacefully, holding the hand of her sister Yvonne, on Sunday June 13th 2010. Rue was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan and although it was the depression, we had many happy childhood memories of spending our summers - split between our mom's childhood home on "The Farm" in Ohio with Grandma and Grandpa Wilcox , then off to Grandma and Grandpa Hansen's cottage on Cavanaugh Lake for a month of swimming and fishing. So many happy moments to hold dear. When Rue graduated from high school she worked as civilian personnel at Romulus Air Force Base where she met her future husband Bob Lake, who was a musician in the officers' club band. He stayed in the music industry most of his life in Chicago & California, in L.A., Rue worked for our mom and dad (Hazel and Alton K. Frederick) who owned Coast Coil Co., an electronics firm that had many components in the first space shots. An exciting time. When they sold their business and retired to the Oregon Coast, Rue and Bob moved to the Ojai/Ventura area, loving to get out on the water to cruise and fish. Rue never had children so when Bob died in April, 1996 we buried him up here and Rue moved to Tacoma to be near us - her sister and brother-in-law - Yvonne and George Boscovich. Rue was a very sweet, dear and funny lady who will be lovingly remembered, always by the family and friends she leaves behind. There will be a Funeral Service for Rue at the chapel at Calvary Cemetery Cloisters at 11am on Friday June 25th 2010. Please leave online condolences at www.GaffneyCares.com. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home, 253-572-6003.
