She was a member of the Blackfeet Tribe born on February 24, 1937 to James Morninggun and Cecile TakesGun-Morninggun,
Leaving behind in Tacoma daughter Eva Russell, Sons Joe Russell and Charles Russell and grandson Joshua Russell. Daughter Mary Bluff of Spokane and son Bruce LittleDog of Browning Montana. Predeceased in death Husband Thomas G. Russell and son Michael Morninggun.
She was a loving friend, aunt, mother and grandmother to many. She will be greatly missed for her warmth, wisdom, resourcefulness, compassion, love, and faith.
She received her A.A. Degree at Tacoma Community College and attended Northern Montana College. She graduated from Browning High School and attended Haskell Indian College. She worked for many years as a Drug and alcohol counselor helping many people within the Native community.
She was proud of her Blackfeet heritage and Language. She spoke fluent Blackfeet and participated as a guest lecturer including a guest spot on a local Evergreen State College radio station providing historical and background information regarding Indian culture.
She enjoyed many activities later in life including Bingo and occasional trips to the local casino. She enjoyed going back home to Browning, Montana to visit family and relatives. She enjoyed telling stories about her family and researching her family history.
