Obituary Roy G. Burnsides Roy was born on August 6, 1933 to Roy N. and Verna Burnsides and passed away peacefully on January 11, 2013. Roy attended Edison, Gray and Graduated from Lincoln in 1951. In 1952, he married Geraldine Brown, the mother of his four children. Roy worked at many jobs until he found his true calling with his 40 year career in Real Estate. He was elected President of the Tacoma Pierce County Board of Realtors in 1986. He married Mary Prichard in 1980 and spent many happy times in their motor home, traveling the U.S., camping at the ocean, Hood Canal and Blewitt Pass along with their travels to Mexico, Arizona and Hawaii. Roy is survived by his loving wife Mary, children Debra (Ted) Jackson, Denise (Gene) Mathena, Roy Jr., and Brian (Rene'); sisters Juanita Demas and Evelyn Perino; step-children Scott, Mark (Sharon), Steve (Kerry) Prichard; sisters-in-law Barbara Cleary, Joan Hamilton, Kathy (Bill) Truax, Ginny (Tony) Hoffman; 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine. He will be missed by his cats, Tabby, Daisy and Bezo. Rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11:00 am at Saint Frances Cabrini, 5505 108th St. SW, Lakewood. Reception following at the Lakewood Elks, 6313 75th St. W., Lakewood. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made to Saint Frances Cabrini Church or the Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society.
