Obituary "Rosemary, pack a bag, we're leaving on a trip." Rosemary's beloved Don would make this call often during their marriage. On January 5, 2012, Mom heard the call and went home to Dad to spend eternity in heaven. Mom/Rosemary, was born at Sisters of Providence Hospital on September 16, 1917 to John and Rose Fleming of Seattle. She is a descendant of the McGough family, early settlers in the Seattle area. She began her academic career at Holy Names Academy in Seattle graduating in 1935. In the fall of 1935, she enrolled at the University of Washington. She was one of only a handful of ladies who graduated with a bachelor's degree in investment banking. She was very proud of her degree and firmly believed in the power of education. After graduation, Mom met the love of her life, Donald M Moore. They married in 1941 and enjoyed over 49 years of marriage before Dad was called to heaven. Soon after they married, they began their family that grew to six children. In the late 1940's, Don and Rosemary left their much-loved Seattle to grow their family. They settled in North Tacoma and joined St. Patrick's Parrish. She was very involved with the Parrish during our childhood years and belonged to the Catholic Women's Club and Bellarmine's Philomathea. Don and Rosemary were avid boaters belonging to the Tacoma Yacht Club and cruising as often as they could. She was a passionate reader, enjoying all the best sellers as soon as the library could get them to her. She enjoyed watching sports, and her favorite was football. She was a dedicated fan of the University of Washington, Gonzaga and Notre Dame. Mom belonged to the same bridge club with the same ladies for over 40 years. Rosemary is survived by all her children, Donald Jr. (Jacolyn), Mary Beth, Terrence (Merilyn), Daniel (Linda), Thomas (Julie) and James (Sandy). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with an eleventh one due next month. The family would like to thank Multicare Hospice for their gracious staff that helped us when we most needed them. Their guidance has been invaluable and we are forever indebted to their kindness. Carol with Catholic Community Services, your care to Mom was special and we are thankful. JoAnn, your friendship and dedication to Mom touched our hearts and we are most grateful. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 16, 2012, 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Graveside Service will be Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 11:00 am at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle. Donations may be made to Catholic, Holy Names Academy and Bellarmine Prepartory School.
