Bob Reynolds, born on January 5, 1940, in Tacoma, Washington, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his love for family and dedication to his community.
Growing up in Tacoma, Bob was the middle child of Dr. Chris and Mamie Reynolds, alongside his sisters, Charlene and Marcia. As an adult, he spent 40 wonderful years in Seattle living and working, before returning to Gig Harbor, where he and his wife, Suzy, remembered the summers of their childhood. His career began in the real estate business with his uncle, and he later became the manager of the trust real estate department for Rainier Bank.
An avid fisherman and sailor, Bob accomplished his dream by sailing his beloved boat, “Saganatt,” to Mexico, where he and Suzy lived aboard for 12 winter seasons, making lifelong friends and together, they, their children and a host of friends experienced the beauty of Mexico and its wonderful people. Bob climbed nearly to the summit of Mt. Rainier twice and, in later years, found joy in running his golf cart around his property, often making trips down to the beach to carry lunch, transport kids, or haul garden clippings.
Bob earned gold medals in the hearts of his family for his unwavering support at kids’ sports events, building pinewood derby cars, paddling boats and traveling the world. He will be greatly missed by his children, Julie Reynolds and Jim Chess, Doug and Paula Reynolds, Greg Reynolds and Anne Hjortenberg, and his spectacular grandchildren, Tanner, Jaxon, Alba, and Louie, who will carry on the life lessons he imparted with love and kindness.
As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Bob’s warm smile and kind heart were a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him.
