Obituary Beloved husband - father - grandfather, died peacefully, surrounded by family, in Boise, ID on December 17. He was 92. Tom was born in 1924 to John and Mary Gould in Tacoma, WA. He lived the majority of his life in University Place, WA and could fill a book with stories of his youthful adventures around Lemons Beach. He graduated from Stadium High in 1942 and went on to Washington State College (Kappa Sigma Fraternity) before his studies were interrupted by WWII. Tom enlisted in the Army Air Corps, serving his country in the European Theater as a Crew Chief for Field Artillery. He received a Bronze Star for meritorious service during the Battle of the Bulge. Following his honorable discharge, Tom enrolled at the College of Puget Sound but found his mind was too busy for studies. Instead, he embarked upon a 32 year career with West Coast Grocery Co, first in sales and eventually managing the Retail Development Division, developing supermarkets throughout the Pacific NW and AK. He continued developing and managing commercial properties in WA for many years until his retirement. Tom was married to Lillian (Beuzer) for 57 years. They had four children: Patrick, Michael (Gina), Mary (Tom), and Meghan (Rob), and eight grandchildren: Kelly, Kevin, Tommy, Colin, Katie, Maddie, Stefany, and Kelcey. Family was a priority and we enjoyed Washington's outdoors year around: camping, boating, water skiing, fishing, golfing, snow skiing and sledding. Dad was a road warrior and loved adventure. He took us on many driving trips, near and far. He and Mom also enjoyed 20+ winters in Mesa, AZ. Dad grew up during the Great Depression; he could make something from nothing and knew everything had value - at least to someone! He was a jack-of-all-trades with skillful hands and a particular talent with motors of all kinds and making pancakes. He valued a job well done. He enjoyed being an active member of his community. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of the Elks. He was a proud Irishman. Funeral services will be held at Bellarmine High School's St. Aloysius Chapel at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28. Farewell to a good man. We will miss you. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home
