There are two special grandsons, Ian and Declan. An adopted daughter Sheila Cook completed Bob's family. Bob loved to build model airplanes or read books about planes. He could restore anything to good working order. Bob served 30 years as a Master Sergeant and flight engineer with the 62nd MAW, 8th Squadron and had over 16,000 flying hours. Bob's great love was to go to the base and meet with his old buddies, sharing stories with the younger airmen. His career spanned three wars. He volunteered at the Air Force Museum and loved the B-26, the 124 Globemaster and the C-141. He was glad to see these planes moved outside to the public.
