Obituary ROBERT C. CHRISTOFFERSON Robert Charles Christofferson died on Nov. 4, 2010 at home with his family by his side. He passed into the loving arms of God at the age of 85 when his courageous battle with cancer ended. Bob was born on Nov. 1, 1925 in Tacoma. He attended Lincoln High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944 during WWII. He married his high school sweetheart Dorothy (Willis) and together they raised four children in Tacoma. They were happily married for 47 years until her death in 1996. Bob worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years. He also had several other jobs including: 55 years in the grandstand at the Puyallup Fair, 21 years as a member of the grounds crew at Cheney Stadium, working at UPS basket ball games, and as the building manager at the N.A.L.C. union hall. His memberships included 60 years in the Nat'l. Assoc. of Letter Carriers, Br. 130, The Elks Lodge 174 for 47 years and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, horseshoes, fishing, bocce ball, mushroom picking and card games with family members and many friends. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, grandson, Jon Christofferson and son-in-law, Peter Miller. Bob is survived by his sister, Charlotte Grange, daughters; Janet Truax (Michael), Barbara Miller, sons; Robert A. Christofferson (Cyndy) and David Christofferson (Debra) grandchildren; Jennifer Stephenson (Rodger), Julie Ewing (David), Tyler Christofferson (Jessica), Lauren and Mary Christofferson, Robert Miller (Becca), Carrie Koehnke (Zach), Sarah Slack (Sanford) and great-grandchildren; Madeline, Annabelle, Aubrey, Samantha, Nicholas, Benjamin, Abigail, Jordan, Jayda and Jaycee. Viewing will be on Friday, Nov. 12 from 4-7 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 So. Yakima, Tacoma. A funeral service will be held on Saturday Nov. 13 at 10 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3315 So. 19th St., Tacoma, followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood.
