Robert Vincent Callson

Obituary Robert Vincent Callson Born May 20, 1923 in Tacoma, WA and passed away January 2, 2011 in Federal Way, WA. Bob graduated from Stadium High School in 1941. For a brief period, he attended the University of Washington. Bob then enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943. He flew B-24 Liberators on many missions in the Pacific during WWII. While recuperating from injuries, he met a nurse who would later become his wife. He and Alyce married June 8, 1947. Upon returning to Tacoma, Bob finished up his education at UPS. Bob and Alyce raised two children, Ritaann Stolte (Stan) of Vacaville, CA and Patrick (Vickie) of Renton. Bob and Alyce have three grandchildren Shannon Chatigny (RJ) of Santa Rosa, CA, and Catie and Michelle Callson of Renton. Bob is survived by his sister Virginia Bayley, sister-in-law Esther Callson, as well as nieces and nephews. Bob was an active member and treasurer of The St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Theresa Parish for many years. He was also a member of the Tacoma Elks Club. Bob enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and loving father and will be truly missed. Daddy and Papa, we will forever love and miss you. The Rosary in Bob's honor will be recited Thursday, January 6, 7:00 p.m. at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 8, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 3939 SW 331st St., Federal Way, WA 98023-2699.
