Obituary Robert N. Bowser "Sandy" Robert N. Bowser (Sandy to all who knew him) passed away peacefully on Feb 27, 2008 at age 83. He was born on May 23, 1924 in Springfield, MA and grew up in Concord, MA. He served in the Army for 3 years during WWII, primarily in the Pacific Theater and the Aleutian Islands. Following the war, Sandy attended Middlebury College and was an avid skier and soccer player. In 1958, he married Mary Kathleen Lancaster in Boston and they moved to south Florida shortly thereafter. Sandy worked with the YMCA for several years and earned his BA in Education from Florida Atlantic University in 1965. He taught public school in Florida for over 20 years-mostly 3rd grade at JC Mitchell Elementary in Boca Raton. In 1988, Sandy and Kathy founded Children's House of Boca Raton, which soon became one of the premier Montessori schools in the country. Sandy and Kathy have been residents of Franke Tobey Jones in Tacoma, WA for the past three years and have thrived in the friendship of the wonderful residents and staff. Sandy was an amazing man who truly loved people, dogs, cats, trains, and especially his family. He touched so many lives in such a positive way-we will all miss him so very much. He is survived by Kathy, his wife of almost 50 years; his son Jon and daughter-in-law Carol of Puyallup; and his sister Helen Revel and brother Pete, both of San Rafael, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, March 2,, 2008 at Franke Tobey Jones in Tacoma, WA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Franke Tobey Jones in the name of Sandy Bowser.
