Robert Stephen Babare

Obituary Robert S. Babare Robert Stephen Babare, longtime resident of Day Island, passed away April 5, 2010. He was 89. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and George Babare: a pioneer boat builder of Old Town Tacoma and his brother & best friend George. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gwendolyn and their 4 children: Mary Jo Glisson (Gary), Cynthia Babare, Robert Babare (Wendy) and Lori Anderson. He will be missed by his 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was a graduate of Stadium High School and a World War II Veteran. He was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for the past 60 years. He loved the long hours he spent tending to his garden and exotic plants. Although he enjoyed being a business man, nothing was more important to him than his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:00 am with a reception following. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
