Richard Hamilton

Richard Lyle Hamilton, 92 of Tacoma WA, passed away on December 14, 2023.
A private service will be held at Tahoma Military Cemetery on January 5th,  2024 and burial will follow the funeral. Arrangements are being handled by Gaffney Funeral Home.
Richard was born in Peoria,  Illinois on August 29, 1931. After attending primary and high school there, he went on to receive a bachelor of science degree from City College in Tacoma WA after retirement from the military.
Richard was married to Myung Soon Hamilton from March 6, 1962 until 1990.
He spent over twenty three years in the U.S. Army (1947-1970) as a light infantry soldier in the 101st Airborne Division where he received 5 bronze service medals, Korean Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal and other medals and citations. After military retirement in 1970, Richard pursued a successful career as a real estate agent. He loved being in the outdoors foraging mushrooms and fishing the Puget Sound and nearby lakes.
Richard is survived by Myung Soon Hamilton, his children James, John and Jenny, his grandchildren Andrew, Ayanna, Bryce and Levi and other family and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents Arthur and Blanche and his brothers Arthur Jr. and William.
