Obituary Rhoda Mae Phillips Born Rhoda Mae Dean March 29, 1927,in Miami, FL She blessed the lives of all whom she came in contact with until the Lord Jesus Christ called her home on April 17, 2007. Rhoda had a deep devotion to and an unfailing belief in Jesus Christ, walking in his footsteps as a witness to this testimony in every aspect of her life. As a child of God she regularly attended St. Leo's Catholic Church, giving him praise through song and praying for the strength and healing of herself and others. As a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted friend she freely shared her spiritual gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. When Rhoda wasn't making a home for her family, helping her children and grandchildren with their homework, or running them back and forth to sports games and practice, modeling, piano, swimming, ballet and gymnastics lessons or being den mother of Cub Scouts pack 212, she was a registered nurse for 42 years touching the hearts and lives of all whom she cared for. Rhoda was also a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Gold Star Wives, AmVets Ladies Auxiliary and the Bible Study Fellowship. Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, George Cecil Dean and Geneva Dean Jones; her husband Albert X. Phillips, Jr.; brother, Thomas Dean and his wife Erma; and sister, Louise Magitious. She is survived by two sons, Andrew and wife Elizabeth, and Albert; sisters Dorothy Joseph and Ella Ernest; grandchildren, Rosemary, Katy, Julia, Chevell Thomas Michael, Quoshuan, Albert and Quinzy as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 12:10 pm at St. Leo Catholic Church in Tacoma. Vigil will be held Monday, April 23, 2007, 7:00 pm at the Gaffney Funeral home Chapel. Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery
