Raymond Looseveldt

Obituary Raymond Loosveldt, Jr., 73, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on August 31, 1943 in Pendleton, OR to Raymond and Nadine Loosveldt. Ray grew up in Milton-Freewater, OR. He graduated from DeSales High School in Walla Walla, WA in 1961. After high school he joined the Navy as an Electricians Mate and served in Vietnam. After his discharge, he completed his training and was a Journeyman Plumber, Electrician, and Steamfitter. He worked for both the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Corrections at McNeil Island for 39 years until his retirement in 2010. Ray married Theresa Pietrowski in 1966 in Walla Walla, WA. They were happily married for 50 years. Ray was a member of Local 44 and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and riding his Harley and Can-Am motorcycles. Ray is survived by his wife, Theresa of Puyallup, WA; his daughter, Alisa Cordell (Michael) and granddaughter, Madison Cordell of Bonney Lake, WA; his brother, Charles Loosveldt (Sharon) of Kennewick, WA; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Nadine Loosveldt; and grandson, Michael Cordell. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1401 Valley Ave E., Sumner, WA at 11:00am on Monday, March 27, 2017. Following the Mass, a luncheon will be held at Sumner Middle School, 1508 Willow Street., Sumner, WA. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Lakewood, WA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1401 Valley Ave E., Sumner, WA at 11:00am on Monday, March 27, 2017. Following the Mass, a luncheon will be held at Sumner Middle School, 1508 Willow Street., Sumner, WA. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Lakewood, WA.
