Raymond Knelleken

Obituary Raymond E. Knelleken, born March 10, 1929, died August 1, 2005. He was a graduate of Bellarmine and Seattle University and belonged to their Alumni Associations. Ray was a Korean War Army veteran, a former grade-school teacher and retired from the Post Office. He was a member of the Retired Postal Employees' Association, and Christ the King Catholic Church in Seattle. He lived most of his life in the Seattle area and had a vast knowledge of the history and events that happened in Seattle and the bus routes. He enjoyed sports, the outdoors, hiking and long walks and as a younger man was a Boy Scout leader and often coached baseball. Ray is survived by sisters Virginia (Leo) Hearlson, Graham; Celene (Berry) Russell, Tacoma; Kathy (Stewart) Beels, Spanaway; brother Norman (Betty) Knelleken, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as well as many special friends at the New Beginnings Adult Home. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Orchard Park for the care Ray received the last few months while living there. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Sunday, August 7, 2005 10:30 am at Christ the King Catholic Church in Seattle. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 9, 2005, 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Tacoma with interment at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Seattle at 2:00 pm.
