Obituary As the sun sets the most beloved cowboy rides off into the horizon. Born July 20, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Raymond Thaddeus Ingersoll passed away peacefully on August 23, 2007 surrounded by his best friend and loving wife Jeanette, and family. With him in spirit are his daughters Tammie, Carrie, and Paulette, son Brian, and stepchildren Christopher, Rachel, Tina, and Paris. A friend to many, Raymond's soul lives on in the hearts of his wife, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, co-workers at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and countless close friends. Raymond entered the U.S Army in 1957, serving honorably for 20 years, including tours of duty in Vietnam and Europe. After retiring from the military, Raymond worked for Boeing for a period of time and then returned to the DOD/PSNS as a civilian employee. Raymond recently was acknowledged by PSNS as employee of the year for S/90 Haz Waste Material. Ray loved training new employees, sharing his breadth of knowledge to all who came through the shop. An avid bowler, lover of country music, and fishing, Ray enjoyed spending time with Jeannette, and hosting his infamous backyard BBQs. Ray's kindness, genorosity, acceptance and respect for all, leaves many people with a treasure chest full of memories. A gathering celebrating Ray will be held at The Spar in Tacoma, September 6th, 2007 from 4pm to 8pm. All who experienced his charm, stubborness, and Tennessee character are invited to share stories, laugh, and raise a glass to this very special man.
