Phyllis Elizabeth Chromey

October 12, 1928 — September 5, 2022

Daughter of Otto and Anna (Kirpes) Hadaller, Phyllis was born October 12, 1928 and raised in the Salkum - Mossyrock area.  She attended St Ives Catholic Church, Harmony, WA and St. Francis Mission, Toledo, WA.

Married Adolph September 15, 1951 and moved to Tacoma, WA – where she worked at Nalley’s Potato Chip plant in Tacoma until the birth of Wilfred and employed by and retired from Hallmark Greeting cards. Long time active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by: husband Adolph, son Paul, parents: Otto and Anna Hadaller, sisters Lillian Wright and Inez Baumer, brother Omer. Survived by: son-Wilfred (Kathy); - (Debbie Chromey); grandchildren – David Chromey, Sheryl (Tim) Ostrander, Adam (Evelyn) Chromey, Rachel Chromey, Alisha and Darren Chromey; great grandchildren - Adam Jr., Ayden, Anton Chromey’s - Alexander and Avangeline Herrera; sisters – Isabelle Boshart, Shirley Estabrook; brothers – Otis (Candy), Oren (Kathy) numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis had a special rosary for each month of the year and cherished them all.

Phyllis’s motto was: Stay in the Light of the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit be your Guide. All good will follow thee, for I am at Peace within me.

Phyllis will be greatly missed because of her love, compassion, understanding, stubbornness, and GREAT weekly apple pie, better than Aunt Bea’s, of Mayberry RFD.

Mass and Graveside service will be held at St. Francis Mission in Toledo, WA on September 23, 2022 at 10:30am.
