Philip (Skip) E. Butler Jr. forever ageless and timeless, loving father, son, brother, uncle, papa, educator, sales professional, and passionate runner, passed away on January 7, 2024. Preceded in heaven by his loving parents Philip E. Butler Sr. and Vera M. Butler, whom he was devoutly dedicated to, he was the cherished father of Desiree Jones (Chris), Schantel Butler, Kressent Marston (Mike), and Philip E. Butler III (Marquelle). Additionally, he was the respected eldest brother to his 7 siblings Sandra, David (Liz), Betty Jean, twins Karen (Wim) and Kathy, Bryan (Teresa), and Daniel, beloved Papa to his 8 grandchildren Shalece, Michael, Mara, twins Karys and Haley, William, Gracelyn, and Easton, and loving Papa Skip to his 2 great-grandchildren Kyaire and Skyla.
He will forever be remembered as a dedicated family man, and one who embodied a fighting spirit each and every day. No challenge was too big for him to tackle, and he believed with his whole heart that with love, all things can be conquered. He proudly served in the United States Army, and after dually retired after five decades of dedicated and selfless service both as a Saint Patrick’s School 6th grade teacher and middle school gym teacher as well as a stellar, award-winning Macy’s sales professional. He was not only wholeheartedly loyal to all his family and friends, but also truly loyal to his clients, students, and their families. His presence will be in our hearts and all the wonderful memories he helped to create will sustain us going forward until we meet him again

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 16th at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Church with a reception to follow at The Skip Butler Gymnasium. Interment at New Tacoma Cemetery.
