Obituary PHILIP E. BUTLER, SR. Age 84, loving husband of Vera with whom he had 63 wonderful years, and cherished father of eight children: Philip E. Butler Jr., Sandra Heatley, David (Liz) Butler, identical twins Karen Butler and Kathy Smith, Bryan (Teresa) Butler Sr. and Daniel Butler. Phil passed away suddenly while in Yuma on February 10, 2010. He also leaves his dear sister Joanne, of North Dakota and his 21 beloved grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren of Tacoma. He proudly served in the US Navy and retired as store manager from Leeds Shoes in Tacoma after 41 years. Upon their retirement, Phil and Vera lived part-time in Yuma, Arizona where they found great joy in spending time with family and friends. People especially knew him for his warmness and kind ear as well as his sense of humor, and love for all creatures great and small. He enjoyed a life dedicated to his family and showed a loyal heart to all. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He was truly the greatest husband, father and grandfather a family could want; we were truly blessed to have him in our lives. His presence will be in our hearts and all the wonderful memories will sustain us until we see him again. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11:00am at the Church of St. Patrick with a reception to follow.
