Philip Barry Bourne

Philip Barry Bourne passed peacefully on September 18, 2023, in Hermosa Beach, CA. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 29, 1931 to the late Malcolm Graham and Helen Kane Bourne.
He attended Canterbury School in Milford Connecticut and graduated from Duke University. He married Mollie O’Connor of Dunkirk New York in 1953. Living in Cleveland, Ohio; Pittsburgh, PA;
Placentia, CA and Kennewick WA, he pursued a career in nuclear engineering. After retiring, Barry pursued his hobbies with zeal. He developed his back garden into a riot of color with
dahlias and gladioli and grew copious amounts of vegetables; traveled the world with family; was a member of the Tri-Cities Golf Club and developed his golf game and joined the Clover
Island Yacht Club and spent time on his boat traveling the Columbia River. Barry moved to University Place, WA in 2018 to be close to family. He moved to Hermosa Beach in 2021, to still
be close to family and to enjoy the sun. Barry was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah, wife Mollie, and brother Malcolm Graham Bourne. Barry leaves behind a legacy of generosity
and adventure. He will be deeply missed by his children, Julie (Paul) Rehberger and Jeffrey (Veronica) Bourne; grandchildren: Philip (Maria) Rehberger, Jennifer (Fredrik) Widman, Jessica
(Kevin) Achziger, Jace and Jackson Bourne; great-children Alexis and Connor Achziger, Natalie, Harper and Emily Widman, Liam, Ava, and Iyla Rehberger; sister, Juliet Bourne Sherwood, and
numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be at Gaffney Funeral Home on Thursday, November 9 at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 10 at 11:00 am
in the St. Aloysius Chapel at Bellarmine Preparatory School, Tacoma, reception to follow at Fircrest Golf Club. Burial will be at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, McMurray Pa.
