Mirella Ropella

Obituary "Gone Dancing" Mirella E. Ropella Mirella, 74, passed away on August 3, 2005 after a long courageous struggle with various illnesses. Mirella was born on July 6, 1931 in Florence, Italy. She came to the United States as a young bride in 1947. After giving birth to five children she was widowed in 1957. She met the love of her life, John, in 1959. They were married in 1961. She always had love for Italy and they returned 3 times. She loved to dance and did as often as possible. Her smile would light up any room. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, John; sons: Al Manuel, Boeh Sulden, Paul Manuel and John (Chelley) Ropella; daughters: Rosita (Gerry) Mayo; Perlita (Bill) Clark and Mary (Chris) Hillard; stepdaughters Sandra Maye and Nancy Benney. She regretted that due to her illness she could not spend enough time with her grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and step-grandchildren along with 19 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren A Funeral Mass will be celebrated TODAY , August 5, 2005, 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
