Michael Fiore Chiovare passed away in Puyallup, Washington from complications from Parkinson and Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 83. He was born at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois to Rose and Michael Chiovare. He attended Cicero Grammar School and Morton East High School in Cicero, Illinois. Michael attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and North Central College in Naperville, Illinois where he was studying to be a chemist. He later served as a medic in the army.
He married Carol Jean Lucchesi in 1965. Michael was in charge of the Soap Division at Gateway Industries and was later promoted to Head the Computer Department. He also owned and operated a grocery store and antique stores. Michael and Carol moved to California in 1988 where Michael headed the Tech Department at Williams-Sonoma until he retired.
Michael was a wonderful husband, brother, and uncle. He dearly loved his family and lifelong friend, Curt Barthel. He loved and took great pride in his ability to complete intricate, detailed work. He loved working on and restoring antique clocks, building furniture, restoring old cars, and going to estate sales.
Michael is survived by his wife, Carol. He is also survived by his brother Brian Chiovare, sister June Tesinsky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael will be dearly missed and we know he is watching over us.
The family would like to thank Wesley Bradley Park and Kaiser Hospice for their loving care and counsel. We are forever grateful.
