Masaye Shigeno

Obituary Masaye Shigeno Masaye Shigeno, age 94, passed away on October 31, 2008 in Tacoma, WA. She was born to Taka and Yonezo Mizoguchi in Puyallup, WA , on December 21, 1913 and graduated from Orting High School in 1932 and continued her education at Knapp's Business School. She was employed most of her life and had a passion for gardening and in her early years enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Yoshio; four brothers; one sister; and one grandson, David Lew. She is survived by daughters: Ellen Shigeno; Darlene Shimizu (Sato); June Shigeno; Aimee Lew (William); five grandchildren: Pam Horn (Ken); Julie Maltos (Jonathan); Kristen Van Watteghem (Sean); Diane Shimizu; Damon Lew; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held at New Tacoma Cemetery on November 3, 2008. A memorial service will be held at Tacoma Buddhist Temple, 1717 Fawcett Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98402 on December 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Tacoma Buddhist Temple or Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way W.
