Obituary Mary Frances Sullivan 4/1/2012 Mary Sullivan died suddenly and unexpectedly on April 1st. She was a Special Education Teacher at Sunset Primary School in University Place. Mary was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on 7/19/1946 to Mary and Frank D'Ambrose of Oakville, Conn. She graduated from the University of Hartford and soon after began her teaching career in Westport, Conn. In 1975 she married Gerard Sullivan and moved west with him to help him establish his chiropractic practice in University Place where they have lived for 37 years. Teaching positions were scarce in 1975, and Mary's teaching career was interrupted for some 17 years while she worked as a manager for AT&T/Pacific NW Bell/US West. Her return to teaching was done mostly at Sunset Primary, a school and school family she loved. Mary loved singing in the St. Charles Chancel Choir and enjoyed the many activities and friendships in the Chambers Bay Greater Federation of Women's Club. Besides her husband, Mary leaves behind her cherished daughter, Meaghan Theresa Sullivan. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7112 S 12th St, Tacoma April 12th at 3:00 PM. Donations in Mary's memory may be made to Nativity House (Tacoma), the Humane Society of Tacoma-Pierce County, or the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Conn.
