Mary Elizabeth Murphy

Obituary Mary Estep Murphy Mary, 89, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2010. She was born in Tacoma, WA on February 18, 1921 to Rudolph and Veronica Resch. Mary attended St. Leo grade and high school. Mary lived a good part of her life in Alaska, where she worked in various office jobs. She loved Alaska! In 1995, she moved back to Tacoma and enjoyed her last years taking care of children in the nursery at UP Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harve Estep and David Murphy, her daughter, Carolyn Estep Bailey, sister Valeria and brothers John, Albert and William. Mary is survived by sisters Genevieve Olsen and Agnes Mullan (Mitch), and may nephews and nieces. Mary had a vibrant and courageous spirit. She loved family gatherings, golf, pinochle, movies, baking pies and bread, and storytelling. Family and friends will miss you, Mary. Rest in peace. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
